SO-W09 SERIES
SO-W09 high-precision sapphire windows combine abrasion resistance with improved optical tolerances for rugged imaging, sensing and protective instrument interfaces.
Product Overview
Engineering Guidance
The series is intended for applications that need sapphire durability but cannot accept ordinary protective-window flatness or surface quality. It is useful for exposed cameras, industrial inspection heads and optical systems subject to cleaning or particulate contact.
Check crystal orientation and polarization sensitivity, especially in coherent or polarization-resolving systems. Use a compliant mount because concentrated edge stress can degrade transmitted wavefront performance.
Custom substrate materials, dimensions, angular tolerances and coating bands can be reviewed for prototype and production quantities.
Technical Resources
Selection notes and practical guidance matched to this product family.
Understand how a plane-parallel window protects an optical path while controlling wavefront and beam deviation.
Compare spectral range, thermal stability, hardness and cost for common optical-window substrates.
Connect window tolerances to transmitted wavefront, wedge, scattering and mechanical integration.
