SO-L28 SERIES
SO-L28 bi-convex lenses use UV fused silica for symmetric positive-power optics with ultraviolet transmission, low fluorescence and improved thermal stability. They are well suited to finite-conjugate imaging, relay optics, beam focusing and UV-visible laboratory systems where the object and image distances are of similar order.

The two convex surfaces distribute optical power more evenly than a plano-convex form. Choose diameter and effective focal length first, then use center thickness, edge thickness, equal-surface radius and back focal length to complete the mechanical layout.
For minimum spherical aberration, bi-convex lenses perform best when the object and image conjugates are reasonably balanced rather than strongly asymmetric.
Custom substrate materials, dimensions, angular tolerances and coating bands can be reviewed for prototype and production quantities.
